Americas vs Germany: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Americas
- Germany
How they compare
Germany currently reports 15.11 kg/ha against 6.55 kg/ha in Americas, a difference of 8.56 kg/ha.
That makes Germany's figure about 2.3 times Americas's.
Across all 63 years both countries report, Germany has been ahead every year.
Americas ranks 18th and Germany ranks 19th of 32 groups.
Germany has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Americas | Germany | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 5.4 kg/ha | 13.77 kg/ha | 8.37 kg/ha | Germany |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
