How they compare

Peru currently reports 2.18 kg/ha against 1.83 kg/ha in Australia, a difference of 0.35 kg/ha.

That makes Peru's figure about 1.2 times Australia's.

The two have swapped places 3 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Australia ahead.

Australia ranks 182nd and Peru ranks 179th of 201 countries.

Across the 7 decades both report, Australia averaged higher in 4 and Peru in 3.

Head to head by decade

Decade Australia Peru Difference Ahead
1960s 1.91 kg/ha 1.21 kg/ha 0.6999 kg/ha Australia
1970s 1.99 kg/ha 1.31 kg/ha 0.6807 kg/ha Australia
1980s 2 kg/ha 1.41 kg/ha 0.59 kg/ha Australia

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
