How they compare

Bangladesh currently reports 37.03 kg/ha against 13.1 kg/ha in Western Europe, a difference of 23.93 kg/ha.

That makes Bangladesh's figure about 2.8 times Western Europe's.

The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Bangladesh ahead.

Bangladesh ranks 1st and Western Europe ranks 3rd of 186 countries.

Across the 7 decades both report, Bangladesh averaged higher in 6 and Western Europe in 1.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
