Cambodia vs Southern Africa: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Cambodia
- Southern Africa
How they compare
Cambodia currently reports 10.05 kg/ha against 4.7 kg/ha in Southern Africa, a difference of 5.35 kg/ha.
That makes Cambodia's figure about 2.1 times Southern Africa's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Cambodia ahead.
Cambodia ranks 30th and Southern Africa ranks 25th of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Cambodia averaged higher in 6 and Southern Africa in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Cambodia | Southern Africa | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 3.09 kg/ha | 2.98 kg/ha | 0.1115 kg/ha | Cambodia |
| 1970s | 3.74 kg/ha | 3.81 kg/ha | 0.0654 kg/ha | Southern Africa |
| 1980s | 4.33 kg/ha | 4.17 kg/ha | 0.1624 kg/ha | Cambodia |
| 1990s | 6.32 kg/ha | 4.85 kg/ha | 1.46 kg/ha | Cambodia |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
