Czechoslovakia vs Eastern Europe: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Czechoslovakia
- Eastern Europe
How they compare
Czechoslovakia currently reports 12.52 kg/ha against 6.06 kg/ha in Eastern Europe, a difference of 6.46 kg/ha.
That makes Czechoslovakia's figure about 2.1 times Eastern Europe's.
Across all 32 years both countries report, Czechoslovakia has been ahead every year.
Czechoslovakia ranks 20th and Eastern Europe ranks 17th of 186 countries.
Czechoslovakia has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Czechoslovakia | Eastern Europe | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 11.5 kg/ha | 7.93 kg/ha | 3.57 kg/ha | Czechoslovakia |
| 1970s | 14.09 kg/ha | 9.83 kg/ha | 4.27 kg/ha | Czechoslovakia |
| 1980s | 14.77 kg/ha | 11.24 kg/ha | 3.53 kg/ha | Czechoslovakia |
| 1990s | 13.41 kg/ha | 10.7 kg/ha | 2.71 kg/ha | Czechoslovakia |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
