Eastern Asia vs Nepal: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Eastern Asia
- Nepal
How they compare
Nepal currently reports 31.37 kg/ha against 23.21 kg/ha in Eastern Asia, a difference of 8.16 kg/ha.
That makes Nepal's figure about 1.4 times Eastern Asia's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Nepal ahead.
Eastern Asia ranks 1st and Nepal ranks 2nd of 38 regions.
Nepal has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Eastern Asia | Nepal | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 4.94 kg/ha | 16.5 kg/ha | 11.56 kg/ha | Nepal |
| 1970s | 6.52 kg/ha | 18.82 kg/ha | 12.3 kg/ha | Nepal |
| 1980s | 10.44 kg/ha | 23.18 kg/ha | 12.74 kg/ha | Nepal |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
