Ethiopia PDR vs Northern Europe: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Ethiopia PDR
- Northern Europe
How they compare
Ethiopia PDR currently reports 10.94 kg/ha against 5.36 kg/ha in Northern Europe, a difference of 5.58 kg/ha.
That makes Ethiopia PDR's figure about 2.0 times Northern Europe's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 32 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Northern Europe ahead.
Ethiopia PDR ranks 25th and Northern Europe ranks 23rd of 186 countries.
Across the 4 decades both report, Ethiopia PDR averaged higher in 2 and Northern Europe in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ethiopia PDR | Northern Europe | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 5.92 kg/ha | 6.29 kg/ha | 0.3766 kg/ha | Northern Europe |
| 1970s | 6.85 kg/ha | 7.45 kg/ha | 0.6054 kg/ha | Northern Europe |
| 1980s | 7.95 kg/ha | 7.72 kg/ha | 0.2332 kg/ha | Ethiopia PDR |
| 1990s | 9.8 kg/ha | 7.51 kg/ha | 2.29 kg/ha | Ethiopia PDR |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
