Iceland vs Polynesia: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Iceland
- Polynesia
How they compare
Polynesia currently reports 1.32 kg/ha against 0.5209 kg/ha in Iceland, a difference of 0.7991 kg/ha.
That makes Polynesia's figure about 2.5 times Iceland's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Iceland ahead.
Iceland ranks 199th and Polynesia ranks 196th of 201 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Iceland averaged higher in 3 and Polynesia in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Iceland | Polynesia | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 1.73 kg/ha | 1.18 kg/ha | 0.5594 kg/ha | Iceland |
| 1970s | 2.06 kg/ha | 1.21 kg/ha | 0.8517 kg/ha | Iceland |
| 1980s | 1.89 kg/ha | 1.17 kg/ha | 0.7185 kg/ha | Iceland |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
