How they compare

Qatar currently reports 4.07 kg/ha against 3.83 kg/ha in Iraq, a difference of 0.24 kg/ha.

That makes Qatar's figure about 1.1 times Iraq's.

The two have swapped places 3 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Iraq ahead.

Iraq ranks 152nd and Qatar ranks 150th of 201 countries.

Across the 7 decades both report, Iraq averaged higher in 6 and Qatar in 1.

Head to head by decade

Decade Iraq Qatar Difference Ahead
1960s 1.92 kg/ha 0.9878 kg/ha 0.9323 kg/ha Iraq
1970s 2.52 kg/ha 1.42 kg/ha 1.1 kg/ha Iraq
1980s 3.37 kg/ha 2.43 kg/ha 0.9394 kg/ha Iraq

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
