Lebanon vs Northern America: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Lebanon
- Northern America
How they compare
Lebanon currently reports 18.96 kg/ha against 6.8 kg/ha in Northern America, a difference of 12.16 kg/ha.
That makes Lebanon's figure about 2.8 times Northern America's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Northern America ahead.
Lebanon ranks 9th and Northern America ranks 12th of 186 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Lebanon averaged higher in 5 and Northern America in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Lebanon | Northern America | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 5.23 kg/ha | 6.39 kg/ha | 1.17 kg/ha | Northern America |
| 1970s | 6.5 kg/ha | 7.88 kg/ha | 1.38 kg/ha | Northern America |
| 1980s | 9.46 kg/ha | 8.22 kg/ha | 1.25 kg/ha | Lebanon |
| 1990s | 13.88 kg/ha | 8.32 kg/ha | 5.56 kg/ha | Lebanon |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
