Mongolia vs Papua New Guinea: Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Atmospheric deposition — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Mongolia
- Papua New Guinea
How they compare
Mongolia currently reports 1.75 kg/ha against 1.39 kg/ha in Papua New Guinea, a difference of 0.36 kg/ha.
That makes Mongolia's figure about 1.3 times Papua New Guinea's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Mongolia ahead.
Mongolia ranks 179th and Papua New Guinea ranks 181st of 186 countries.
Mongolia has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Mongolia | Papua New Guinea | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 2.33 kg/ha | 0.8266 kg/ha | 1.5 kg/ha | Mongolia |
| 1970s | 3.59 kg/ha | 0.9924 kg/ha | 2.6 kg/ha | Mongolia |
| 1980s | 4.01 kg/ha | 1.23 kg/ha | 2.78 kg/ha | Mongolia |
| 1990s | 3.46 kg/ha | 1.64 kg/ha | 1.83 kg/ha | Mongolia |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
