Algeria vs Luxembourg: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Algeria
- Luxembourg
How they compare
Algeria currently reports 1.25 kg/ha against 1.07 kg/ha in Luxembourg, a difference of 0.18 kg/ha.
That makes Algeria's figure about 1.2 times Luxembourg's.
The two have swapped places 7 times across 24 shared years of data; in 2000 it was Luxembourg ahead.
Algeria ranks 145th and Luxembourg ranks 148th of 176 countries.
Across the 3 decades both report, Algeria averaged higher in 1 and Luxembourg in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Algeria | Luxembourg | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2000s | 0.5925 kg/ha | 1.45 kg/ha | 0.8558 kg/ha | Luxembourg |
| 2010s | 1 kg/ha | 1.08 kg/ha | 0.075 kg/ha | Luxembourg |
| 2020s | 1.16 kg/ha | 1.14 kg/ha | 0.0201 kg/ha | Algeria |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
