Americas vs Argentina: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Americas
- Argentina
How they compare
Americas currently reports 63.72 kg/ha against 52.73 kg/ha in Argentina, a difference of 10.99 kg/ha.
That makes Americas's figure about 1.2 times Argentina's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Americas ahead.
Americas ranks 2nd and Argentina ranks 4th of 32 groups.
Across the 7 decades both report, Americas averaged higher in 3 and Argentina in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Americas | Argentina | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 8.54 kg/ha | 1.94 kg/ha | 6.6 kg/ha | Americas |
| 1970s | 14.44 kg/ha | 4.86 kg/ha | 9.58 kg/ha | Americas |
| 1980s | 19.46 kg/ha | 18.54 kg/ha | 0.9211 kg/ha | Americas |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
