How they compare

Bulgaria currently reports 0.6835 kg/ha against 0.5043 kg/ha in Azerbaijan, a difference of 0.1792 kg/ha.

That makes Bulgaria's figure about 1.4 times Azerbaijan's.

The two have swapped places 2 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Bulgaria ahead.

Azerbaijan ranks 174th and Bulgaria ranks 171st of 191 countries.

Across the 4 decades both report, Azerbaijan averaged higher in 1 and Bulgaria in 3.

Head to head by decade

Decade Azerbaijan Bulgaria Difference Ahead
1990s 0.426 kg/ha 1.1 kg/ha 0.6771 kg/ha Bulgaria
2000s 0.5362 kg/ha 0.4423 kg/ha 0.0939 kg/ha Azerbaijan
2010s 0.7279 kg/ha 1.19 kg/ha 0.4634 kg/ha Bulgaria
2020s 0.5205 kg/ha 0.8491 kg/ha 0.3286 kg/ha Bulgaria

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
