How they compare

Canada currently reports 19.57 kg/ha against 5.02 kg/ha in Central America, a difference of 14.55 kg/ha.

That makes Canada's figure about 3.9 times Central America's.

The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Central America ahead.

Canada ranks 27th and Central America ranks 27th of 191 countries.

Across the 7 decades both report, Canada averaged higher in 4 and Central America in 3.

Head to head by decade

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
