How they compare

China currently reports 28.05 kg/ha against 23.48 kg/ha in Guinea-Bissau, a difference of 4.57 kg/ha.

That makes China's figure about 1.2 times Guinea-Bissau's.

The two have swapped places 3 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Guinea-Bissau ahead.

China ranks 18th and Guinea-Bissau ranks 20th of 191 countries.

Across the 7 decades both report, China averaged higher in 5 and Guinea-Bissau in 2.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
