How they compare

Cuba currently reports 3.03 kg/ha against 2.86 kg/ha in Jamaica, a difference of 0.17 kg/ha.

That makes Cuba's figure about 1.1 times Jamaica's.

The two have swapped places 6 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Cuba ahead.

Cuba ranks 128th and Jamaica ranks 131st of 191 countries.

Cuba has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Cuba Jamaica Difference Ahead
1960s 17.23 kg/ha 7.92 kg/ha 9.31 kg/ha Cuba
1970s 12.3 kg/ha 8.72 kg/ha 3.58 kg/ha Cuba
1980s 10.98 kg/ha 8.69 kg/ha 2.29 kg/ha Cuba

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
