Eastern Africa vs Uruguay: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Eastern Africa
- Uruguay
How they compare
Uruguay currently reports 41.26 kg/ha against 15.44 kg/ha in Eastern Africa, a difference of 25.82 kg/ha.
That makes Uruguay's figure about 2.7 times Eastern Africa's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Eastern Africa ahead.
Eastern Africa ranks 9th and Uruguay ranks 6th of 29 groups.
Across the 7 decades both report, Eastern Africa averaged higher in 4 and Uruguay in 3.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Eastern Africa | Uruguay | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
