How they compare

France currently reports 4.56 kg/ha against 4.3 kg/ha in Greece, a difference of 0.26 kg/ha.

That makes France's figure about 1.1 times Greece's.

The two have swapped places 3 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Greece ahead.

France ranks 110th and Greece ranks 113th of 191 countries.

Across the 7 decades both report, France averaged higher in 4 and Greece in 3.

Head to head by decade

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
