Greece vs Mexico: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Greece
- Mexico
How they compare
Greece currently reports 4.3 kg/ha against 3.8 kg/ha in Mexico, a difference of 0.5 kg/ha.
That makes Greece's figure about 1.1 times Mexico's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Greece ahead.
Greece ranks 106th and Mexico ranks 109th of 176 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Greece averaged higher in 1 and Mexico in 6.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Greece | Mexico | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 3.15 kg/ha | 4.78 kg/ha | 1.63 kg/ha | Mexico |
| 1970s | 2.07 kg/ha | 6.8 kg/ha | 4.73 kg/ha | Mexico |
| 1980s | 1.36 kg/ha | 7.62 kg/ha | 6.26 kg/ha | Mexico |
| 1990s | 0.9125 kg/ha | 5.6 kg/ha | 4.69 kg/ha | Mexico |
| 2000s | 0.8345 kg/ha | 4.45 kg/ha | 3.61 kg/ha | Mexico |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
