Hungary vs Malaysia: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Hungary
- Malaysia
How they compare
Hungary currently reports 2.3 kg/ha against 2.18 kg/ha in Malaysia, a difference of 0.12 kg/ha.
That makes Hungary's figure about 1.1 times Malaysia's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Malaysia ahead.
Hungary ranks 139th and Malaysia ranks 142nd of 191 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Hungary averaged higher in 2 and Malaysia in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Hungary | Malaysia | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 1.9 kg/ha | 4.68 kg/ha | 2.78 kg/ha | Malaysia |
| 1970s | 1.87 kg/ha | 4.83 kg/ha | 2.96 kg/ha | Malaysia |
| 1980s | 3.52 kg/ha | 3.42 kg/ha | 0.0996 kg/ha | Hungary |
| 1990s | 2.68 kg/ha | 2.71 kg/ha | 0.0278 kg/ha | Malaysia |
| 2000s | 1.38 kg/ha | 2.54 kg/ha | 1.16 kg/ha | Malaysia |
| 2010s | 2.11 kg/ha | 2.16 kg/ha | 0.0425 kg/ha | Malaysia |
| 2020s | 2.26 kg/ha | 2.24 kg/ha | 0.0205 kg/ha | Hungary |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
