Hungary vs Yugoslav SFR: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Hungary
- Yugoslav SFR
How they compare
Yugoslav SFR currently reports 2.75 kg/ha against 2.3 kg/ha in Hungary, a difference of 0.45 kg/ha.
That makes Yugoslav SFR's figure about 1.2 times Hungary's.
The two have swapped places 11 times across 31 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Yugoslav SFR ahead.
Hungary ranks 128th and Yugoslav SFR ranks 125th of 176 countries.
Across the 4 decades both report, Hungary averaged higher in 3 and Yugoslav SFR in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Hungary | Yugoslav SFR | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 1.9 kg/ha | 2.74 kg/ha | 0.8458 kg/ha | Yugoslav SFR |
| 1970s | 1.87 kg/ha | 1.73 kg/ha | 0.1365 kg/ha | Hungary |
| 1980s | 3.52 kg/ha | 2.57 kg/ha | 0.9584 kg/ha | Hungary |
| 1990s | 4.23 kg/ha | 2.52 kg/ha | 1.71 kg/ha | Hungary |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
