Malawi vs South-Eastern Asia: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Malawi
- South-Eastern Asia
How they compare
Malawi currently reports 35.84 kg/ha against 14.92 kg/ha in South-Eastern Asia, a difference of 20.92 kg/ha.
That makes Malawi's figure about 2.4 times South-Eastern Asia's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Malawi ahead.
Malawi ranks 9th and South-Eastern Asia ranks 13th of 176 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Malawi averaged higher in 6 and South-Eastern Asia in 1.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
