Mali vs South Sudan: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Mali
- South Sudan
How they compare
South Sudan currently reports 9.34 kg/ha against 8.78 kg/ha in Mali, a difference of 0.56 kg/ha.
That makes South Sudan's figure about 1.1 times Mali's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 12 shared years of data; in 2012 it was Mali ahead.
Mali ranks 72nd and South Sudan ranks 71st of 176 countries.
Across the 2 decades both report, Mali averaged higher in 1 and South Sudan in 1.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Mali | South Sudan | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2010s | 8.75 kg/ha | 5.95 kg/ha | 2.8 kg/ha | Mali |
| 2020s | 8.5 kg/ha | 9.36 kg/ha | 0.8522 kg/ha | South Sudan |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
