How they compare

Zimbabwe currently reports 9.77 kg/ha against 8.78 kg/ha in Mali, a difference of 0.99 kg/ha.

That makes Zimbabwe's figure about 1.1 times Mali's.

The two have swapped places 21 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Mali ahead.

Mali ranks 76th and Zimbabwe ranks 73rd of 191 countries.

Across the 7 decades both report, Mali averaged higher in 5 and Zimbabwe in 2.

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
