How they compare

Rwanda currently reports 21.74 kg/ha against 9.74 kg/ha in Middle Africa, a difference of 12 kg/ha.

That makes Rwanda's figure about 2.2 times Middle Africa's.

The two have swapped places 2 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Rwanda ahead.

Middle Africa ranks 21st and Rwanda ranks 21st of 32 groups.

Rwanda has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Middle Africa Rwanda Difference Ahead
1960s 3.92 kg/ha 14.58 kg/ha 10.65 kg/ha Rwanda
1970s 5 kg/ha 15.48 kg/ha 10.48 kg/ha Rwanda
1980s 5.17 kg/ha 14.89 kg/ha 9.72 kg/ha Rwanda

The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
