Suriname vs Zambia: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Suriname
- Zambia
How they compare
Zambia currently reports 28.37 kg/ha against 23.57 kg/ha in Suriname, a difference of 4.8 kg/ha.
That makes Zambia's figure about 1.2 times Suriname's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Suriname ahead.
Suriname ranks 18th and Zambia ranks 15th of 176 countries.
Suriname has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Suriname | Zambia | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 24.47 kg/ha | 2.42 kg/ha | 22.05 kg/ha | Suriname |
| 1970s | 29.62 kg/ha | 2.87 kg/ha | 26.75 kg/ha | Suriname |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
