Uruguay vs World: Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Biological fixation — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Uruguay
- World
How they compare
Uruguay currently reports 41.26 kg/ha against 26.26 kg/ha in World, a difference of 15 kg/ha.
That makes Uruguay's figure about 1.6 times World's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was World ahead.
Uruguay ranks 7th and World ranks 7th of 191 countries.
Across the 7 decades both report, Uruguay averaged higher in 3 and World in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Uruguay | World | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 0.6925 kg/ha | 8.53 kg/ha | 7.84 kg/ha | World |
| 1970s | 2.03 kg/ha | 10.15 kg/ha | 8.12 kg/ha | World |
| 1980s | 4.5 kg/ha | 11.92 kg/ha | 7.42 kg/ha | World |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
