Nigeria vs Turkmenistan: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Agriculture
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Nigeria
- Turkmenistan
How they compare
Nigeria currently reports 1.12 Mt CO2e against 0.8391 Mt CO2e in Turkmenistan, a difference of 0.2809 Mt CO2e.
That makes Nigeria's figure about 1.3 times Turkmenistan's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Turkmenistan ahead.
Nigeria ranks 26th and Turkmenistan ranks 29th of 109 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Nigeria averaged higher in 1 and Turkmenistan in 5.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Nigeria | Turkmenistan | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0412 Mt CO2e | 0.3703 Mt CO2e | 0.329 Mt CO2e | Turkmenistan |
| 1980s | 0.1089 Mt CO2e | 0.4788 Mt CO2e | 0.3699 Mt CO2e | Turkmenistan |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
