Romania vs Uruguay: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Agriculture
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Agriculture over time
- Romania
- Uruguay
How they compare
Uruguay currently reports 0.5973 Mt CO2e against 0.5679 Mt CO2e in Romania, a difference of 0.0294 Mt CO2e.
That makes Uruguay's figure about 1.1 times Romania's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Romania ahead.
Romania ranks 37th and Uruguay ranks 36th of 109 countries.
Romania has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Romania | Uruguay | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 1.43 Mt CO2e | 0.0147 Mt CO2e | 1.42 Mt CO2e | Romania |
| 1980s | 1.6 Mt CO2e | 0.0323 Mt CO2e | 1.57 Mt CO2e | Romania |
| 1990s | 0.5316 Mt CO2e | 0.0651 Mt CO2e | 0.4665 Mt CO2e | Romania |
| 2000s | 0.482 Mt CO2e | 0.0953 Mt CO2e | 0.3867 Mt CO2e | Romania |
| 2010s | 1.05 Mt CO2e | 0.213 Mt CO2e | 0.84 Mt CO2e | Romania |
| 2020s | 0.8191 Mt CO2e | 0.5224 Mt CO2e | 0.2968 Mt CO2e | Romania |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agricultural sector. This includes emissions from livestock (IPCC 2006 codes 3.A.1 (enteric fermentation, 3.a.2 (manure management) and crops (IPCC 2006 codes 3.C.1 Emissions from biomass burning, 3.C.2 Liming, 3.C.3 Urea application, 3.C.4 Direct N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.5 Indirect N2O Emissions from managed soils, 3.C.6 Indirect N2O Emissions from manure management, 3.C.7 Rice cultivations). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
