Ghana vs Zimbabwe: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Industrial Combustion (Energy)
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Industrial Combustion (Energy) over time
- Ghana
- Zimbabwe
How they compare
Zimbabwe currently reports 2.24 Mt CO2e against 2.04 Mt CO2e in Ghana, a difference of 0.2 Mt CO2e.
That makes Zimbabwe's figure about 1.1 times Ghana's.
The two have swapped places 6 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Zimbabwe ahead.
Ghana ranks 92nd and Zimbabwe ranks 89th of 193 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Ghana averaged higher in 2 and Zimbabwe in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ghana | Zimbabwe | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial combustion (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.2 Manufacturing Industries and Construction. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
