How they compare

Sri Lanka currently reports 2.15 Mt CO2e against 2.02 Mt CO2e in Croatia, a difference of 0.13 Mt CO2e.

That makes Sri Lanka's figure about 1.1 times Croatia's.

The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Croatia ahead.

Croatia ranks 85th and Sri Lanka ranks 83rd of 204 countries.

Croatia has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Croatia Sri Lanka Difference Ahead
1970s 2.21 Mt CO2e 0.2448 Mt CO2e 1.97 Mt CO2e Croatia
1980s 3.09 Mt CO2e 0.3681 Mt CO2e 2.72 Mt CO2e Croatia
1990s 2.19 Mt CO2e 0.4506 Mt CO2e 1.74 Mt CO2e Croatia
2000s 2.64 Mt CO2e 0.7424 Mt CO2e 1.9 Mt CO2e Croatia
2010s 2.39 Mt CO2e 0.9453 Mt CO2e 1.44 Mt CO2e Croatia
2020s 2.14 Mt CO2e 1.88 Mt CO2e 0.2524 Mt CO2e Croatia

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial processes including IPCC 2006 codes 2.A.1 Cement production, 2.A.2 Lime production, 2.A.3 Glass Production, 2.A.4 Other Process Uses of Carbonates, 2.B Chemical Industry, 2.C Metal Industry, 2.D Non-Energy Products from Fuels and Solvent Use, 2.E Electronics Industry, 2.F Product Uses as Substitutes for Ozone Depleting Substances, 2.G Other Product Manufacture and Use and 5.A Indirect N2O emissions from the atmospheric deposition of nitrogen in NOx and NH3. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
