How they compare

Slovenia currently reports 1.4 Mt CO2e against 1.3 Mt CO2e in Zambia, a difference of 0.1 Mt CO2e.

That makes Slovenia's figure about 1.1 times Zambia's.

The two have swapped places 2 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Slovenia ahead.

Slovenia ranks 98th and Zambia ranks 100th of 203 countries.

Slovenia has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

Head to head by decade

Decade Slovenia Zambia Difference Ahead
1970s 4.71 Mt CO2e 0.4218 Mt CO2e 4.29 Mt CO2e Slovenia
1980s 5.7 Mt CO2e 0.4367 Mt CO2e 5.26 Mt CO2e Slovenia
1990s 0.8783 Mt CO2e 0.3338 Mt CO2e 0.5445 Mt CO2e Slovenia
2000s 1.94 Mt CO2e 0.3292 Mt CO2e 1.61 Mt CO2e Slovenia
2010s 1.37 Mt CO2e 0.9836 Mt CO2e 0.3898 Mt CO2e Slovenia
2020s 1.45 Mt CO2e 1.37 Mt CO2e 0.0859 Mt CO2e Slovenia

Averages of every year both report within each decade.

A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from industrial processes including IPCC 2006 codes 2.A.1 Cement production, 2.A.2 Lime production, 2.A.3 Glass Production, 2.A.4 Other Process Uses of Carbonates, 2.B Chemical Industry, 2.C Metal Industry, 2.D Non-Energy Products from Fuels and Solvent Use, 2.E Electronics Industry, 2.F Product Uses as Substitutes for Ozone Depleting Substances, 2.G Other Product Manufacture and Use and 5.A Indirect N2O emissions from the atmospheric deposition of nitrogen in NOx and NH3. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
