Brazil vs Middle income: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Brazil
- Middle income
How they compare
Middle income currently reports 5.59 Mt CO2e against 0.305 Mt CO2e in Brazil, a difference of 5.29 Mt CO2e.
That makes Middle income's figure about 18.3 times Brazil's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Middle income has been ahead every year.
Brazil ranks 7th and Middle income ranks 9th of 100 countries.
Middle income has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
