Canada vs Malaysia: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Canada
- Malaysia
How they compare
Canada currently reports 0.1026 Mt CO2e against 0.0795 Mt CO2e in Malaysia, a difference of 0.0231 Mt CO2e.
That makes Canada's figure about 1.3 times Malaysia's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Canada has been ahead every year.
Canada ranks 13th and Malaysia ranks 14th of 100 countries.
Canada has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
