Canada vs Philippines: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Canada
- Philippines
How they compare
Philippines currently reports 0.1569 Mt CO2e against 0.1026 Mt CO2e in Canada, a difference of 0.0543 Mt CO2e.
That makes Philippines's figure about 1.5 times Canada's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Canada ahead.
Canada ranks 13th and Philippines ranks 11th of 100 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Canada averaged higher in 4 and Philippines in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Canada | Philippines | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
