Estonia vs Gabon: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Estonia
- Gabon
How they compare
Gabon currently reports 0.0003 Mt CO2e against 0.0002 Mt CO2e in Estonia, a difference of 0.0001 Mt CO2e.
That makes Gabon's figure about 1.5 times Estonia's.
The two have swapped places 5 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Estonia ahead.
Estonia ranks 81st and Gabon ranks 80th of 100 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Estonia averaged higher in 4 and Gabon in 2.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Estonia | Gabon | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0005 Mt CO2e | 0 Mt CO2e | 0.0005 Mt CO2e | Estonia |
| 1980s | 0.0006 Mt CO2e | 0.0001 Mt CO2e | 0.0005 Mt CO2e | Estonia |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
