Germany vs Honduras: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Germany
- Honduras
How they compare
Honduras currently reports 0.0342 Mt CO2e against 0.0309 Mt CO2e in Germany, a difference of 0.0033 Mt CO2e.
That makes Honduras's figure about 1.1 times Germany's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 54 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Germany ahead.
Germany ranks 22nd and Honduras ranks 21st of 100 countries.
Germany has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Germany | Honduras | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.1666 Mt CO2e | 0.0112 Mt CO2e | 0.1554 Mt CO2e | Germany |
| 1980s | 0.1937 Mt CO2e | 0.0178 Mt CO2e | 0.176 Mt CO2e | Germany |
| 1990s | 0.2011 Mt CO2e | 0.027 Mt CO2e | 0.1741 Mt CO2e | Germany |
| 2000s | 0.1845 Mt CO2e | 0.0263 Mt CO2e | 0.1583 Mt CO2e | Germany |
| 2010s | 0.1674 Mt CO2e | 0.027 Mt CO2e | 0.1405 Mt CO2e | Germany |
| 2020s | 0.0515 Mt CO2e | 0.0322 Mt CO2e | 0.0193 Mt CO2e | Germany |
Averages of every year both report within each decade.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
