Hong Kong vs Small states: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Hong Kong
- Small states
How they compare
Hong Kong currently reports 0.0113 Mt CO2e against 0.0089 Mt CO2e in Small states, a difference of 0.0024 Mt CO2e.
That makes Hong Kong's figure about 1.3 times Small states's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Hong Kong has been ahead every year.
Hong Kong ranks 36th and Small states ranks 34th of 100 countries.
Hong Kong has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
