Ireland vs Mali: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Ireland
- Mali
How they compare
Ireland currently reports 0.0145 Mt CO2e against 0.0115 Mt CO2e in Mali, a difference of 0.003 Mt CO2e.
That makes Ireland's figure about 1.3 times Mali's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Ireland ahead.
Ireland ranks 32nd and Mali ranks 35th of 100 countries.
Ireland has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Ireland | Mali | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0257 Mt CO2e | 0.0011 Mt CO2e | 0.0247 Mt CO2e | Ireland |
| 1980s | 0.0305 Mt CO2e | 0.0017 Mt CO2e | 0.0288 Mt CO2e | Ireland |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
