Japan vs Mexico: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Japan
- Mexico
How they compare
Japan currently reports 3.29 Mt CO2e against 0.5133 Mt CO2e in Mexico, a difference of 2.78 Mt CO2e.
That makes Japan's figure about 6.4 times Mexico's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, Japan has been ahead every year.
Japan ranks 2nd and Mexico ranks 5th of 100 countries.
Japan has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
