North Korea vs Other small states: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- North Korea
- Other small states
How they compare
North Korea currently reports 0.0113 Mt CO2e against 0.0075 Mt CO2e in Other small states, a difference of 0.0038 Mt CO2e.
That makes North Korea's figure about 1.5 times Other small states's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, North Korea has been ahead every year.
North Korea ranks 36th and Other small states ranks 35th of 100 countries.
North Korea has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
