Maldives vs United States: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Maldives
- United States
How they compare
Maldives currently reports 0.0039 Mt CO2e against 0.0034 Mt CO2e in United States, a difference of 0.0005 Mt CO2e.
That makes Maldives's figure about 1.1 times United States's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 54 shared years of data; in 1970 it was United States ahead.
Maldives ranks 47th and United States ranks 50th of 100 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Maldives averaged higher in 1 and United States in 5.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
