Mexico vs United Kingdom: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Mexico
- United Kingdom
How they compare
Mexico currently reports 0.5133 Mt CO2e against 0.2431 Mt CO2e in United Kingdom, a difference of 0.2702 Mt CO2e.
That makes Mexico's figure about 2.1 times United Kingdom's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was United Kingdom ahead.
Mexico ranks 5th and United Kingdom ranks 8th of 100 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, Mexico averaged higher in 2 and United Kingdom in 4.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Mexico | United Kingdom | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
