New Zealand vs Norway: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- New Zealand
- Norway
How they compare
Norway currently reports 0.0601 Mt CO2e against 0.0563 Mt CO2e in New Zealand, a difference of 0.0038 Mt CO2e.
That makes Norway's figure about 1.1 times New Zealand's.
The two have swapped places 3 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was New Zealand ahead.
New Zealand ranks 16th and Norway ranks 15th of 100 countries.
Across the 6 decades both report, New Zealand averaged higher in 4 and Norway in 2.
Head to head by decade

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
