Slovakia vs Small states: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from Waste over time
- Slovakia
- Small states
How they compare
Slovakia currently reports 0.01 Mt CO2e against 0.0089 Mt CO2e in Small states, a difference of 0.0011 Mt CO2e.
That makes Slovakia's figure about 1.1 times Small states's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was Slovakia ahead.
Slovakia ranks 38th and Small states ranks 34th of 100 countries.
Slovakia has averaged higher in every one of the 6 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Slovakia | Small states | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1970s | 0.0094 Mt CO2e | 0.0033 Mt CO2e | 0.0061 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
| 1980s | 0.0119 Mt CO2e | 0.0048 Mt CO2e | 0.0072 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |
| 1990s | 0.0128 Mt CO2e | 0.0055 Mt CO2e | 0.0072 Mt CO2e | Slovakia |

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
