Myanmar vs Sub-Saharan Africa: Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions (total) excluding LULUCF
Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions (total) excluding LULUCF over time
- Myanmar
- Sub-Saharan Africa
How they compare
Myanmar currently reports 607.5% against 86.2% in Sub-Saharan Africa, a difference of 521.3%.
That makes Myanmar's figure about 7.0 times Sub-Saharan Africa's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 34 shared years of data; in 1991 it was Sub-Saharan Africa ahead.
Myanmar ranks 26th and Sub-Saharan Africa ranks 26th of 201 countries.
Myanmar has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Myanmar | Sub-Saharan Africa | Difference | Ahead |

About this data
Change of emissions (as %) of current year with respect to emissions in baseline year 1990 emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agriculture, energy, waste, and industrial sectors, excluding LULUCF.. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5). Negative values indicate that the emission level for that year is lower than the emissions level in 1990.
