Afghanistan vs Yemen: Crop harvest removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Crop harvest removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Afghanistan
- Yemen
How they compare
Yemen currently reports 17.45 kg/ha against 16.11 kg/ha in Afghanistan, a difference of 1.34 kg/ha.
That makes Yemen's figure about 1.1 times Afghanistan's.
The two have swapped places 4 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Yemen ahead.
Afghanistan ranks 162nd and Yemen ranks 159th of 186 countries.
Yemen has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Afghanistan | Yemen | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 9.89 kg/ha | 12.9 kg/ha | 3.01 kg/ha | Yemen |
| 1970s | 11.18 kg/ha | 13.81 kg/ha | 2.63 kg/ha | Yemen |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
