Belarus vs Southern Europe: Crop residue removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Crop residue removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- Belarus
- Southern Europe
How they compare
Belarus currently reports 23.79 kg/ha against 9.94 kg/ha in Southern Europe, a difference of 13.85 kg/ha.
That makes Belarus's figure about 2.4 times Southern Europe's.
The two have swapped places 2 times across 32 shared years of data; in 1992 it was Belarus ahead.
Belarus ranks 20th and Southern Europe ranks 20th of 186 countries.
Belarus has averaged higher in every one of the 4 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | Belarus | Southern Europe | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1990s | 12.48 kg/ha | 9.67 kg/ha | 2.81 kg/ha | Belarus |
| 2000s | 16.67 kg/ha | 10.12 kg/ha | 6.54 kg/ha | Belarus |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
