China vs Denmark: Crop residue removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area
Crop residue removal — Cropland nitrogen per unit area over time
- China
- Denmark
How they compare
Denmark currently reports 27.38 kg/ha against 25.21 kg/ha in China, a difference of 2.17 kg/ha.
That makes Denmark's figure about 1.1 times China's.
The two have swapped places 10 times across 63 shared years of data; in 1961 it was Denmark ahead.
China ranks 16th and Denmark ranks 14th of 201 countries.
Denmark has averaged higher in every one of the 7 decades both report.
Head to head by decade
| Decade | China | Denmark | Difference | Ahead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1960s | 9.88 kg/ha | 14.7 kg/ha | 4.82 kg/ha | Denmark |
| 1970s | 13.08 kg/ha | 15.26 kg/ha | 2.18 kg/ha | Denmark |
| 1980s | 16.53 kg/ha | 16.79 kg/ha | 0.2615 kg/ha | Denmark |

About this data
The Cropland Nutrient balance domain contains information on the flows of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium from mineral fertilizer, manure applied, atmospheric deposition, crop removal, and biological fixation over cropland and per unit area of cropland. The flows are aggregated to total inputs and total outputs, from which the overall nutrient balance and nutrient use efficiency on cropland are calculated. Statistics are disseminated in units of tonnes and in kg/ha, as appropriate. Nutrient use efficiency is expressed as a fraction (%).
